Submission Terms
Placeholder — pending legal review
The full submission agreement for Sandbox has not been finalised. This page is a placeholder. Before any piece is published, every selected writer will be sent the completed terms and asked to agree to them explicitly — agreeing at submission does not transfer any rights.
What is settled today
- Your work stays yours. Submitting a piece transfers nothing. We are not acquiring rights at this stage, and nothing on this page grants us a licence.
- Nothing is published without a second, explicit yes. Selection is an invitation. Publication happens only after you have seen the final terms and agreed to them.
- Submissions stay private. Unpublished work is not displayed publicly, not listed, and not shown to other writers. It is readable only by the editors reading for the volume.
- No AI reads it for us. Selection is a human editorial judgement. Your piece is not scored, ranked, screened, or summarised by an AI model, and it is not used as training data.
- It has to be yours, and it has to be free to place. Submit your own original writing, and only work you are free to offer.
- You can withdraw. Email us any time before publication and the piece comes out of consideration.
- Compensation is unresolved. We are not making any payment representation, in either direction, until the terms are finished.
Questions before you submit?
Ask us through the contact page — we would rather answer first than have you send work you weren’t sure about.
