The Sandbox is where scenes get drafted against a world that already exists — its characters, its places, its unfinished threads. You do not need to ask, and you do not need to finish anything. None of it is canon, and none of it ever becomes canon on its own.

Pick a starting point
Every world lists what it is made of — characters, places, plot threads. Any one of them is somewhere to start. The list shows which ones already have drafts against them, so you can join a conversation that is running or open one nobody has touched.

Read what is already there
Drafts are stacked, not listed. Swipe up to move through one scene, left to see a different take on the same starting point. Reading first is not politeness — it is how you find the gap your scene fills.

Add yours
Write your own take, or continue where somebody else stopped. A continuation credits the writer you picked up from, and both names travel with the scene.

The rules are short, and they are the same for everyone in the room.
Nothing here is canon
A draft is a draft. It does not change the world, it does not bind the creator, and it never becomes canon on its own. The creator decides what becomes canon — that is true on the Board and it is true here.
Your name stays on what you wrote
The name on the draft is the name we guarantee. If a creator canonises your idea, the credit travels with it.
Reading is open, writing takes one click
Anyone who can see a public project can read its drafts. Writing one needs board standing, which you get by joining the board — free, and it takes a click.
The creator can draft here too
An owner writing against their own card is doing what you are: trying a version before committing to it. What they cannot do is pitch to their own Board.
Nothing you write is taken from you
A draft stays yours. Canonising an idea is the creator choosing to build on it, with your name attached — not a transfer of the thing you wrote.
It works on worlds you did not build
That is the whole point. The Sandbox is for the world you finished reading and could not stop thinking about, not only for the ones you started.
